FAQs
Yes, our dogs are fully vaccinated and we are required by law to prove that all guest dogs have current vaccinations against Canine Distemper, Infectious Canine Hepatitis, Canine Adenovirus, Leptospirosis (Lepto 4), Canine Parvovirus.
Bordetella Bronchiseptica vaccination, (kennel cough) is also imperative. All vaccinations will need to have been administered a minimum of 2 weeks before your dog stays with us. Your dog/s must also be on regular preventative treatment for fleas, ticks and worms – if their treatment is due during their stay with us, please bring this with you in its original packaging with signed veterinary instructions on the packaging and we will administer it for you.
This will help to protect the health of your dog and ours which will minimise the risk of cross contamination. Please be sure to bring a copy of your dog’s full vaccination history and treatments for flea’s ticks and worms’ history before the stay begins.
We are more than happy to accept most dogs but we have to decline those listed on the dangerous dog’s act 1991 (e.g., Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, Fila Brasilerio) or dog hybrids registered under the Dangerous Wild Animal Act 1976 (e.g., Wolf Hybrids). We have also chosen to decline American Bull Dogs, Cane Corso’s and another dog weighing over 20 Kilos
We are licenced to have 2 guest dogs at a time, giving us a total of 8 dogs including our own 6 dogs. We would like to offer a bespoke experience which may sometimes be difficult for numerous different dogs so we have decided that a maximum of 2 guest dogs is a perfect number at any given time.
Yes, this is necessary for the dogs to meet and greet each other, then, once they have become familiar with each other which should not take more than 10 – 20 minutes. Once they are familiar and comfortable with each other you can have a look around our home and secure garden, see where your dog/s will sleep and ask each other questions.
If at the end of the meet and greet your fur baby is happy and feels at home with us, then we will arrange a trial day session or sleep over.
All new clients will need to complete an online comprehensive Doggy Document which will give us as much information as possible so that we can ensure their daily routine remains as close to normal as possible so that they have a stress-free day/holiday with us. There will also be forms for you to sign including a Veterinary Release Form which says we can take your dog to our vet with your permission, it will also give our vet your permission to request further information from your vet if required should your dog become unwell.
Sadly no. We will only accept dogs over 2 years old
We hope to make our house your dog’s second home, but equally understand the need for familiar things so please feel free to bring their favourite blanket, toy, food bowl and bed if you prefer, we do have plenty of everything so don’t worry if you have forgotten anything.
On arrival we will remove your dog’s collar and attach our own which has our details on just in case, we will do this for all guest dogs.
It is better for your dog/s to continue with their same diet as they would at home as this will reduce any upset tummies, please be sure to bring enough food in its original packaging and please feel free to bring their favourite treats if you prefer.
We walk in Mote Park twice a day, which is within 5 minutes walking distance from us, we enter he park by the Claygate Entrance, (for those who do not know Mote Park, this entrance is one of several entrances to the park).
We prefer not to walk your dog/s off lead in case they are spooked or frightened at any time, we do have extending leads and will be guided by them as to where they want to explore and sniff. We do as already mentioned, remove their collar and name tag and attach our own with our details so should the unthinkable happen then we are the first port of call.
Drop off and pick up is strictly by appointment at a mutually agreed time, there is a parking space next to our car on the drive.
We can be contacted by phone or email for enquiries, check availability and arrange a meet and greet.
Once the meet and greet has been successful, and we have a copy of your dogs full vaccination history, you will be given access to the software we use, ‘Pet Sitter Plus’, which is where your dogs information is securely stored. You will need to enter all information for your dog but this will be discussed with you in detail.
We will then arrange a trial sleepover date, again if successful then a deposit of 50% will be required (this is non-refundable) and the remaining 50% will be due 48 hours before their stay commences.
Payments are preferred by bank transfer.
